James Leyton Morrow, 75, of Eldon died at 5:45 a.m. on March 17, 1990, at his home.
He was born December 28, 1910 near Douds to A.C. and Lydia Freeman Morrow. He married Irene Downing on June 19, 1936, in Lancaster, Mo.
A resident of Eldon all of his life, he was a 1930 graduate of Eldon High School. He was employed by Chicago, Rock Island and Pacific Railroad for 35 years, retiring as railroad engineer in 1975. He was a member of Locomotive Engineers and New Hope Masonic Lodge of Eldon.
He is survived by his wife; two daughters, Patty Peebler of Eldon and Joy Chickering Kuper of Fort Madison; seven grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and a sister, Maxine Strother of Eldon.
He was preceded in death by two brothers, Earl and Rollie Morrow and a sister, Freida Armintrout.
The service was at 11 a.m. Tuesday, March 20, 100- at Campbell-Kremer Funeral Home in Eldon, the Rev. John Walton officiating. Burial was in Eldon Cemetery.
Memorials may be made to Wapello County Hospice Association and Eldon Public Library.
