Roberta E. Burns

A memorial service will be held at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, March 29, 1990 at the Raymond Funeral Home in Fairfield for Roberta E. Burns, formerly of Ottumwa.

Roberta was born January 2, 1916. Her death occurred on January 23, 1990 at Stevens Hospital in Edmonds, Washington, following a brief illness.

A graduate of the Ottumwa High School and Parsons College, she taught in Iowa high schools, including Donnellson and Knoxville. During World War II she taught radio and code transmission at the Armed Services Base in Sioux Falls, South Dakota. She then worked at several radio stations before joining Collins Radio, now Rockwell Collins in Cedar Rapids. Upon retirement she moved to the Seattle, Washington area and became a licensed real estate agent. She lived in Edmonds, Washington at the time of her death.

Her parents, Robert and Esther Burns preceded her in death.

Roberta was a member of the Davis Street Christian Church in Ottumwa.

Interment of cremated remains will be buried in the Evergreen Cemetery in Fairfield.

Survivors include a number of cousins and friends.
