Russell Littleton

Russell E. Littleton, 79, of the Hocker Estates, Keokuk, died Sunday, April 8, 1990, at the Keokuk Area Hospital.

Born July 18, 1910, in Lorraine, Ill., he was the son of William and Mary Hudson Littleton. He married Margaret White in 1931. She preceded him in death. He later married Catherine Gavin Bauswell Aug. 19, 1948, in Hiawatha, Kan.

He had lived in and around the Keokuk area for 45 years. He was a member of the All Saints Church, Keokuk, and the Burlington Ironworkers Local 577. He was employed with Best Construction in the R.L. Patton Construction Companie and had helped construct many of the major buildings in the Keokuk area.

Surviving are his wife, Catherine; three daughters, Mrs. Mary Nell (James) Horsey, Farmington, Mrs. Peggy (Edward) Alberts, Ashville, N.C., and Mrs. Nancy (John) Corbin, Hamilton, Ill.; two sons, Dan Littleton, Muscatine, and William Little, Chicago, Ill.; two stepsons, James Bauswell, Bettendorf, and Jack Bauswell, Peru, Ill.; 18 grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be after 2 p.m. today with the family receiving friends from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. at the DeJong's Funeral Home, Keokuk. A vigil for the deceased will be held at 7:30 p.m. today at the funeral home.

The service for Mr. Littleton will be 10 a.m. Wednesday at the DeJong's Funeral Home, Keokuk. A vigil for the deceased will be held at 7:30 p.m. today at the funeral home.

The service for Mr. Littleton will be 10 a.m. Wednesday at the DeJong's Funeral Home, Keokuk, with the Rev. Michael Spiekermeier officiating. Burial will be in the Sunset Memorial Gardens.
