Bob Steele

STOCKPORT - Bob Steele, 60, rural Stockport, died at 11:46 p.m. Tuesday, April 17, 1990, at his home.

The service will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at Behner Funeral Home in Fairfield with the Rev. Dean Grant officiating. Burial with military rites will be in Glasgow Cemetery at Glasgow. Family visitation will be 7 to 8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home. Memorials have been established to Hospice of Jefferson County and Wildlife Preservation for Jefferson County.

Steele was born Feb. 27, 1930 in Jefferson County, the son of Rex and Lydia Zeigler Steele. He married D. Irene Medaris May 15, 1954, in Kahoka, Mo. A lifelong resident of Jefferson County, he had worked at the Dexter Company since 1948. He served in the U.S. Marine Corps during the Korean War.

Surviving are his wife; two sons, Jim of Stockport, Dick of Metamora, Ill.; a brother, Dale of Fairfield and a sister, Arlene Lyons of Birmingham. His parents, a brother, John and a sister, Venis Luzzadder, preceded him in death.
