Veda Cox Anderson

Veda Maxine Cox Anderson, 76, of Birmingham died July 5,1989, at Van Buren County Memorial Hospital in Keosauqua.

She was born January 27, 1913, in Havelock, Neb., to Carl Rudolph and Calla Breck Lenz. She had been employed by Iowa Ordinance Plant in Middletown, Barker Manufacturing Co. in Keosauqua and at Parsons College in Fairfield. She was a member of Bethel Church south of Douds and Eagles Auxiliary. She married Frank M. Cox on Sept. 29, 1930, in Savana, Mo. He died March 8, 1972. She married Ted Anderson on June 29, 1974, in Birmingham. He died Jan. 20, 1984.

She is survived by three daughters, Marjorie Barnes of New London, Maxine King of Milton and Donna Jean Hornberg of Keosauqua; 10 grandchildren; and eight great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by a son, Frank M. Cox.

The service was at 1 p.m. Saturday, July 8, 1989 at Bethel Church south of Douds, the Rev. Phil Campbell officiating. Burial was in Aspen Grove Cemetery in Burlington.

Memorials have been established to Bethel Church or Van Buren County Ambulance Service or Van Buren County Memorial Hospital.

Anderson rite set Saturday

BIRMINGHAM - Veda Maxine Anderson, 76, died Wednesday, July 5, 1989, at the Van Buren County Memorial Hospital in Keosauqua.

The funeral service is tentatively set for Saturday afternoon at the Bethel Church south of Douds with the Rev. Phil Campbell officiating. Burial will be in the Aspen Grove Cemetery, Burlington. Friends may call at their convenience at Burch-Raymond Funeral Home, Birmingham. A memorial has been established and may be left at the funeral home.

Mrs. Anderson was born Jan. 27, 1913, in Havelock, Neb., the daughter of Carl Rudolph and Calla Breck Lenz. She grew up in Nebraska, married Frank M. Cox Sept. 29, 1930, at Savanna, Mo., and they moved to Farmington in 1933. In 1945, they moved to a farm near Birmingham.

She worked at the Iowa Ordnance Plant in Middletown, the Barker Manufacturing Co. in Keosauqua and at Parsons College. She was a member of the Bethel Church and the Eagles Auxiliary.

Her husband died March 8, 1972. She married Ted Anderson June 29, 1974, in Birmingham. He died Jan. 20, 1984. She also was preceded in death by her son Frank M. Cox Jr. and a brother.

Survivors are three daughters, Marjorie Barnes of New London, Maxine King of Milton and Donna Jean Hornberg of Keosauqua; 10 grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
