McMillan funeral set Tuesday

The funeral service for former Fairfield resident Dwight H. McMillan will be at 1:30 Tuesday at the Sharon Presbyterian Church near Farmington with the Rev. Kenneth Harden officiating.

McMillan, 87, died at 9:30 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 15, at his home in Fresno, Calif.

He was born April 13, 1901, in Primrose, the son of William and Cora Carver McMillan. He married Doris Matheny in Fort Madison. She died May 27, 1976.

McMillan received a bachelor of science degree Parsons College and worked as a farmer. He was a custodian in Jefferson County schools and at Rockwell International. He lived in Fairfield from 1960-76.

McMillan is survived by four daughters, Elaine McMillan of Fresno, Evelyn Fernandez of Clovis, Calif., Jeanette McMillan of San Jose, Calif., and Vivian Kliewer of Fresno, two sons, Donald of Fresno, and Arthur of Westwood, Kan.; nine grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a brother Ralph.

Visitation will be at Behner Funeral Home beginning Monday evening. Burial will be in Sharon Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society.
