Harley Stark

Henry Harley Stark Jr., 70, Route 4, Mt. Pleasant, died 9:45 p.m., Thursday, Feb. 23, 1989, at Jefferson County Hospital, Fairfield.

He was born Feb. 26, 1918, in Pembine, Wis., the son of Henry and Edith Johnson Stark. He married Eileen Nelson June 10, 1943, in Las Vegas, Nev.

He was a long-time farmer in Jefferson and Henry counties and served with the U.S. Army in World War II.

Surviving are his wife; three sons, Larry, Stockport; Dennis, Lander, Wyo.; and Steven, St. Genevieve, Mo.; two daughters, Cheryl Giberson, Mt. Pleasant, and Kandi Stark, Lockridge; and one sister, Marine Humphrey, Mt. Pleasant.

Funeral services will be 2 p.m., Sunday, Feb. 26 at Behner Funeral Home, Fairfield, with Presiding Overseer Craig DeCorte. Interment will be in Lambirth Cemetery, southeast of Lockridge.

Friends may call at their convenience, beginning at noon Saturday. Memorials have been established to the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witness, Mt. Pleasant, or the American Cancer Society.
