Dale Norris Howell

Dale Norris Howell, 65, of 616 N. 7th Street, died Friday, June 23, in the University of Iowa Hospital in Iowa City.

He was born Aug. 30, 1923, in Milton, Iowa, the son of Raymond and Beulah Owens Howell. He married carol McKnight in 1947, and later married Georgia L. Hardman. He was a longtime employee of Donald Holland Trucking, retiring in 1985. He had lived in Keokuk since 1950 moving here from Memphis, Mo. He served in the U.S. Army during Word War II.

Survivors include a daughter, Mrs. Larry (Paulette) Reichman of Keokuk; two grandsons; step daughter Mrs. Scarlette Andrews of Keokuk; eight step grandchildren and two step great grandchildren; sisters Mrs. Virginia Mendenhall of Keokuk and Mrs. Lucille Osborne of Kahoka; brother Harold Howell of Burlington and half brother Richard Howell of Virginia Beach, Va.

He was preceded in death by his wife Georgia on Sept. 23, 1985 and a stepson.

Services were scheduled for 1 p.m. today at DeJong's Funeral Home with Rev. Howard Holman officiating.

Burial was in the Keokuk National Cemetery with military rites.

Memorials may be made to Oncology and Hematology Clinics of Iowa Hospitals in Iowa City.

DeJong's Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
