Edna Silberman

Agnes Edna Silberman, 71, Rochester, Indiana died at 8:18 a.m. Sunday, May 21, 1989 at her home. She had been ill for five months.

She was born March 31, 1918 in Bygland, Minnesota to Tellef and Ingborg Olson Sorenson. She moved to Rochester 35 years ago from Chicago, Illinois. On February 5, 1939 in Chicago, she married Donald L. Silberman, who died July 24, 1974. She was retired from the Rochester Telephone Company, and was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church, the Home Front Club and the Ladies Auxiliary of the Manitou Moose Lodge.

Surviving are four daughters, Mrs. Ronald (Madonna) Johnson, Hillsboro, Iowa, Mrs. Bruce (Suzanne) Wiard, Macy, and Claudia Silberman and Cheryle Cox, both of Rochester; a son, Hugh, South Bend; a step-son, Roger Silberman, Matteson, Illinois; 23 grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; a brother, Meldore Sorenson, East Grand Forks, Minnesota; for sisters, Mrs. Ann Sehler, Neche, North Dakota, Mrs. Esther Spranger, Fergus Falls, Minnesota, Mrs. Dorothy Schue, East Grand Forks, and Mrs. Olga Collyard, Elgin, Illinois. She was preceded in death by a daughter, Sandra Biney, on January 6, 1989; a granddaughter, Annette Johnson; a brother and four sisters.

Memorials may be made to the Fulton County Cancer Society, Rochester, Indiana, 46975.
