Fannie Edna Bacon, daughter of Charles (Henry) and (Mary) Eliza [Harrington] Bacon was born November 14, 1877 on a farm four miles northwest of Cromwell and died September 3, 1933 at the age of 75 years (55 years).
She was married to Alden Smock June 7, 1900. Much of her life was given over to church activities especially music. She was a member of the Cromwell Congregational church. She was educated in the rural schools of Adams county and attended the Corning Academy prior to teaching in rural schools for several years.
Two children, Hazel and Harry who were with her at her death survive. She is also survived by one sister Georgiana Bacon of Creston and three brothers, Allen of South Bend, Ind., Ira of Del Norte, Col., and Ralph of Tingley. Her husband, father and mother and one brother Harvey preceded her in death. Relatives and friends from away attending the funeral were Mr. and Mrs. Will Herrington and Mrs. Bacon of Buda, Illinois; Mr. and Mrs. Weller Smock, Minnie Smock and Mr. and Mrs. Ralph Bacon of Tingley; Mr. and Mrs. L. O. Corey, Mr. and Mrs. J. S. Nichol, Mrs. Della Randolph, Mrs. W. S. Mills, Mrs. Jarvis and daughter of Creston; J. E. Hunt of Williamson, Mr. and mrs. Sam Shook of Stringtown, Mrs. J. W. McSkimming, Mrs. Harvey Reetz, Mrs. Jennie Howard and daughter, Mrs. Pearl Mathews, Mrs. Ollie Belding, Mr. and Mrs. Howard Brown and Mrs. Carl Nord of Creston.
