Roy A. Haynes, 80, a retired Burlington Railroad engineer, died at the Crest Haven nursing home after a long illness. He was employed by the railroad here for many years. He retired in 1960,

Funeral services will be held at 3 p.m. Tuesday at Coens Home for Funerals, Rev. Traverce Harrison, pastor of the First Christian Church, will officiate. Burial will be in Graceland Cemetery.

Roy A. Haynes was born at Davis City, July 12, 1890. He was married in Leon, in 1908 to Florence Baker, who died in 1966.

Mr. Haynes is survived by a son, Eldon Haynes of Creston; a son-in-law, Paul Cregeen of Clarinda; six grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a son Glenn, and a daughter, Margaret.

He was a member of the First Christian Church and of the Eagles and Masonic Lodges.
