MACELLE MORRISON
Macelle Mildred Steinkamp Morrison, daughter of Henry J. and Rebecca Stull Steinkamp was born August 15, 1899 near Maryville, MO. She departed this life at the Ringgold County Hospital on September 12, 1984 at the age of 85.
As a child she lived near Tingley and Harrisonville, Mo. Macelle was a member of the Tingley Christian Church. She was involved in many local organizations; 4-H, CWF and Farm Bureau. Macelle enjoyed raising violets, knitting, and crocheting. Prior to her marriage she taught school in the Tingley area.
On May 18, 1922 she was married to Herschel J. Morrison in Creston, Iowa. One son, Roger, was born to this union. She was preceded in death by her parents; brother, John; sisters Bess and Cora; and husband, Herschel. Macelle had been a resident of the Clearview Nursing Home for four years. She made many friends while living there.
Surviving family members are son, Roger and wife Donna; grandchildren, John of Mount Ayr; Rebecca of Gilbert, Iowa; Rich and Lori Mercer of Tingley; and her pride and joy, great-grandson Tony Mercer. Macelle is also survived by several nieces and nephews, other relatives and many friends.
God saw she was growing weaker,
So he did what he thought best,
He came and stood beside her,
Softly whispered "Come to rest."Services were held at the First Christian Church in Tingley, Iowa on Saturday, September 15, 1984 at 10:00 a.m. Officiating were Rev. Merlin Wilkins and Rev. Doris Hanson. Organist was Mrs. Merlin Wilkins.
Casketbearers were Jim Smith, Carl Riggs, Donald Weeda, Jack England, Dean Breckenridge and Billy Breckenridge. Burial was in the Tingley Cemetery at Tingley, Iowa.
