OBITUARY - MRS. G.Q. IMMERZEEL
Mrs. Annie C. IMMERZEEL passed to the higher life on May 11th, 1926, from the home of her sister, Mrs. Mary E. LUTHER.

Dr. John H. WILLIAMSON conducted the funeral service May 13th in a simple, impressive manner, bringing out the quiet Christian character she had impressed upon all who knew her.

Mrs. IMMERZEEL was born in Yorkshire, England, April 21, 1858, and when a child came with her parents, Henry and Mary (LISTER) THOMAS to Illinois. Here she received her education having been a student in the Wilmington School in which she afterwards became a teacher. Later she attended college in Iowa and again taught in Des Moines and other cities in Iowa. In 1892 she was married to Mr. G.Q. IMMERZEEL, who with one son, Henry M., survives her.

The home was in Tingley, Iowa, where she was active in all good work. She never neglected in the least the immediate duties of her home life and was truly a home maker in the best and highest sense of that profession although her interests were never bounded by her own four walls. All that was for the good of her city, state, country, church or the world at large always had her intelligent interest and as far as her strength permitted, her active assistance.

She was an ardent W.C.T.U. worker and for many years an efficient officer of the Royal Neighbors.

Five years ago she and her husband moved to Jefferson, Iowa, but her health failed and through the ensuing years she has been a great sufferer.

Last fall she came to Wilmington and spent her remaining days at the home of her sister. Her outgrown body was laid to rest by the side of her parents in beautiful Oakwood cemetery, Wilmington. She will be sadly missed by a host of friends, but they will put away their personal feelings as she would have them do and rejoice with her in the new life into which she has gone.

During her long illness the many kindnesses of her friends and former pupils were greatly appreciated by her and her family. -The Wilmington (Ill.,) Advocate.
