OBITUARY - ALVIN "DEAN" ALLEN
March 17, 1935 - November 24, 2010

Alvin Dean ALLEN, son of Troy Lee & Lucy Viola (TULL) ALLEN, was born March 17, 1935 near the community of Caledonia, Iowa. Dean graduated from Delphos High School and furthered his education in college. Dean lived in California and taught school for a time before pursuing his career as an auctioneer. Dean lived in Missouri in the 1970’s; returned back to California in the 1980’s; and then in December of 1999, he returned to live the remainder of his life in Missouri and Iowa. Dean has shared his life the past 17 years with Pat PARIS and together many happy years were spent together.

Dean passed away suddenly at his home in Mount Ayr on November 24, 2010.

He was preceded in death by his parents and a nephew Billy Ray MOSS.

Those left to cherish his memory include his wife Pat ALLEN of Mount Ayr; daughter Connie Sue ALLEN of Redding, Iowa; son Ronald Eugene ALLEN of St. Joseph, Missouri; step-daughters Deborah (Mark) MANESS of Holly Springs, Mississippi, Carla (Ed) DANNAR of Bethany, Missouri, Jami Wallace LANE & Barry SCHUSTER of Mount Ayr, and Virginia (Eric) SWANK of Mount Ayr; grandchildren Nicole ALLEN, Brandon ALLEN, Angelina ALLEN, Howdy ALLEN, Taz ALLEN, Billy HATTON, Kenny & Kendra HATTON, Sean MANESS, Samantha Dawn MANESS, Dani SCHUSTER, Charlli SCHUSTER, Brysen HIGHTSHOE, Brenden HIGHTSHOE, Connor SWANK, Korbin SWANK, Zachary SWANK, Maycee WALLACE-SWANK, Tasha DRAKE, and Tasha CONNOVER; several great-grandchildren including Merrick ALLEN, Logan HATTON; two sisters LaVon (Gene) MOSS of Lenox, Iowa and Patsy (Robert) HASHBERGER of Council Bluffs, Iowa; other relatives and friends.

A memorial fund has been established to the family.

Watson-Armstrong Funeral Home of Mount Ayr was in charge of the arrangements.
