OBITUARY - MRS. ALFRED WHITLEY

Funeral services for Mrs. Alfred WHITLEY of Naper, Nebr., were held last Friday afternoon from the Clausen Funeral home at Burke and the Methodist Church at Jamison, Neb.

Rev. JAMES of Burke conducted the service. "Beyond the Sunset," "In The Garden" and "Sweet Hour of Prayer" were sung by Mrs. Gene McLAUGHLIN of Bonesteel and Mrs. Harry FUHRER of Naper. They were accompanied by Mrs. Edward PEPPEL of Naper.

Burial was in Elm Grove Cemetery at Jamison [Nebraksa]. Pallbearers were Lloyd HEYDEN, Lloyd CARLSON, Lloyd ALLPRESS, Albert ALLPRESS, Reid DRURY and Gene McLAUGHLIN.

Sarah Adele GRAESSER, daughter of John and Eliabeth GRAESSER, was born Sept. 4, 1884 in [Maloy] Ringgold County, Iowa [the daughter of John Fredrick and Mary Elizabeth (HARTSOOK) GRAESSER], and passed away Nov. 4 [1958] in Burke, S.D. at the age of 74 years, 2 months.

She moved with her parents at an early age to Lincoln, Nebr. and later to Boone County, Nebr. In 1899 they moved to a homestead in Keya Paha County, Nebr. where she lived until her marriage.

She was married to Alfred WHITLEY Febr. 18, 1904 at Mills, Nebr. For awhile they lived on a homestead in Gregory County and then moved to a farm near Jamison, Nebr. where she lived until the last two years which were spent in Naper, Nebr.

She leaves to mourn her passing, her husband Alfred, three sons, Clem of Newman Grove, Nebr., Don of Redfield, S. Dak., and Oliver of Naper, Nebr., one daughter Mrs. Elizabeth McCLURG of Ft. Pierre, S. Dak., two sisters, Mrs. Dave BECK of Dallas, S. Dak., and Mrs. John DOVER of Battleground, Wash., two brothers, Tom GREASSER (sic) of Dallas, S. Dak. and Vern GREASSER (sic) of Sturgis, S. Dak., 18 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren and a host of relatives and friends.

One daughter Agnes died in infancy.
