OBITUARY - EDNA MAY ROACH BAKER
March 5, 1927 - November 16, 2010

Edna May ROACH was born March 5, 1927 in Hatfield, Missouri to Jesse and Lucy ROACH. She grew up north of Allendale, Missouri and attended Jackson school through the eighth grade. Edna married Loren Herbert BAKER on September 20, 1946. To this union were 11 births. She lived to take care of her husband, children and grandchildren.

Even if you weren’t a member of the family, you were always treated as such. Everyone was always welcome at anytime. She loved everyone no matter who they were or what they did. She loved company and would always say, "You might as well stay for supper. I can peel a few more tators and add some milk to the gravy." No one was ever turned away. She was proud of each and every one of her kids. Edna was an honorary member of the Mount Ayr Assembly of God Church.

Edna May BAKER passed away on November 16, 2010 at the Mount Ayr Health Care Center in Mount Ayr, Iowa where she had been a resident for three and one-half years. While there she became affectionately known as a "tough old broad."

She was preceded in death by her husband of 58 years, Loren Herbert BAKER; parents, Jesse B. and Lucy May ROACH; brothers, Lloyd and Earnest ROACH, and grandchildren, Jonathan Taylor FLOWERS, Diana Lynn DEVICK, Joseph William BAKER and Liam Jonathan MOSER.

Surviving her are her children, Gary BAKER and wife Kathy Ann, Larry BAKER and wife Rose, Jerry BAKER and wife Bonny, Esther KING and husband Dan, Ruth LYNCH and husband Mike, Barbara RICH, Samuel BAKER and wife Renea, Frank BAKER and wife Bonnie, Lorna FELIX and husband T. J. and Darlene BAKER and husband Khalid; 39 grandchildren; 45 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild, and many, many friends and family. She was a mother, grandmother and aunt to everyone.

Please honor Edna by sharing memories of her with the many grandchildren so that her spirit lives on . . . and is never forgotten.

Funeral services were held Friday, November 19, 2010, at the Prugh-Dunfee Funeral Home in Grant City, Missouri. Pastor Mike MOSER and Rev. Len GREEN officiated. Interment was in the Kirk Cemetery near Allendale, Missouri.
