OBITUARY - MARTHA HOLT) WAYNE, 74

PALMETTO, Fla. - Martha H. WAYNE, 74, of Palmetto, died Oct. 4, 2010.

Born in Diagonal, Iowa, she moved to Florida in 1996 from Cullman, Ala., and she previously lived in Attleboro, Mass., for 35 years.

She was a member of the Centenary United Methodist Church in Attleboro.

She was a graduate of Lawrence County High School in 1954 and she attended Peabody College at Vanderbilt University for two years and graduated from the University of Rhode Island in 1970 with highest distinction.

She taught Home Economics and Child Development at Attleboro High School for 19 years. She enjoyed taking cruises.

Predeceased by her parents, the Rev. Homer C. and Alice REID HOLT; survived by husband of 55 years, William L. of Palmetto; son, John (Gail) of Warwick, R.I.; Laura Lee (Randy) WHEELER of Attleboro; brother, Edward HOLT of Arkansas; sister, Mary OWEN of Jasper, Ala., Rebecca JOHNSON of Aiken, S.C.; and five grandchildren, Craig Wayne WHEELER, Katelyn Mary WHEELER, Heather WAYNE JOHNSON, Jordan Paige WAYNE and the late Megan Elizabeth WAYNE.

Services will be a Memorial Service at noon Friday, Oct. 8, 2010, at the Sun Key Village Clubhouse, 8607 26th Ave. East, Palmetto, Fla., 34221. Brown & Sons Funeral Homes & Crematory, 43rd Street Chapel, 604 43rd St. West, Bradenton, Fla., 34209 in charge.
