CORA TASLER, HOLT PIONEER, DIES AT 87

Mrs. Cora MLINAR TASLER who came to Atkinson in a covered wagon 71 years ago, died Sat. evening, Nov. 12, at the Atkinson Memorial Hospital at the age of 87 years, 9 months and 2 days. She was the widow of the late Anton A. TASLER.

Until she was hospitalized Sept 27, Mrs. TASLER lived with her daughter, Mrs. Ray CEARNS, on the TASLER home place 7 miles west and 5 miles south of Atkinson, which had been her home ever since her marriage 69 years ago.

Funeral services were conducted Tue. morning at 10 o’clock at St Joseph's Catholic Church by the Rev. Francis KUBART of Omaha, a nephew of Mrs. TASLER. The rosary was recited Sun. and Mon. evening at the Seger Funeral Home.

Burial was in St. Joseph's Cemetery. The pallbearers were grandsons, Charles TASLER and DeWayne TASLER and nephews, Adolph MLINAR of Atkinson, Earl REISER of Butte, Harry MLINAR of Stuart and Lawrence JONAS of O'Neill.

Cora MLINAR was born in Ringgold County, Iowa, Feb. 12, 1868, a daughter of Frank and Caroline KODEYTEK MLINER. When she was a girl in her teens, she traveled to Holt County [NE] in a covered wagon with her parents. They arrived in March, 1884 and settled on a farm 12 miles southwest of Atkinson [NE].

She was united in marriage to Anton A. TASLER on Aug 16, 1886, and they lived on their homestead farm 12 miles southwest of Atkinson. Two daughters and 5 sons were born to them. One of the daughters, Mary, died in infancy.

Her husband died Sept. 28, 1943. She was also preceded in death by 5 sisters, Anna WILSON, Josephine PACHA, Barbara JONAS, Tillie RADCLIFFE, and Mary REISER; 7 brothers, Frank, Joseph, and John MLINAR, and four who died in infancy.

She is survived by one dau, Mrs. Ray (Tillie) CEARNS of Stuart [NE], 5 sons, Fred and Clarence TASLER of Stuart [NE], Anton J., William and Charles of Atkinson [NE]; 14 grandchildren, and 26 great-grandchildren; one sister, Mrs. Pauline DAVIS and one brother, Fred MLINAR, both of Atkinson.

Out of town relatives attending the funeral included; Father KUBART of Omaha; Mr. and Mrs. Earl REISER, Mr. and Mrs. Dan Reiser, Mrs. Clayton KLASNA, and Mrs. Charley LEWIS, all of Butte [NE]; Mr. and Mrs. Lawrence JONAS and Dick, Mr. and Mrs. Bob JONAS, of O'Neill; Mr. and Mrs. Lester JONAS and sons of Columbus; Mr. and Mrs. Melvin JONAS, Mrs. Josephine JONAS, Mrs. Dorothy Klimek and Mr. and Mrs. Walt COUNTS of Burwell; Mr. and Mrs. Harvey THOMPSON of Bassett; Mrs. Ed COUFAL of Stuart; Mrs. Tillie OLSON and daughter, Clara of Omaha.
