OBITUARY - EVAN LAMMOND BRANNON

Evan L. BRANNON, only son of William and Emma MASTERS BRANNON, was born November 3, 1905, near Sargent, Nebraska.

Evan lost his father by death when he was only nine years of age and shortly after this he and his mother moved to Lenox, Iowa, where Evan attended school, and grew to young manhood.

On May 9, 1926 he was united in marriage to Wilma WOODS of Diagonal, Iowa. To this union three children were born, Beverly (Mrs. Kenneth HANES) of Peabody, Kansas; Donn of Castella, California; Billie Jean (Mrs. Lennie BARKER) of Lenox.

Most of Evan's life has been spent in Lenox and Diogonal, with the exception of nine years spent on a farm located between Butler, and Rich Hill, Missouri, which was land his mother had owned. The two older children graduated from Rich Hill High School.

In 1950 the family moved back to Diagonal and eventualy to Lenox where he found a position with Buxton Oil.

Before becoming ill, Evan had been coustodian of the Lenox Elementary School, working up untill the day he entered the Omaha Hospital, where he had lung surgery. Evan died of lung cancer, November 2, 1971, just a day before his 66th birthday. Burial was at Diagonal Cemetery.
