OBITUARY - ALICE IONA (DAVIS) PECK

Alice Iona PECK was born Aug. 11, 1916, at Kellerton, Iowa, and went to be with her Savior on Sept. 9, 2010.

Alice was the fourth of eight children born to Leota and Edward DAVIS. She graduated from Lamoni High School in 1934.

Alice accepted Christ as her Savior on Oct. 31, 1931, and was baptized by the Rev. KRATZER, pastor of the Christian Church in Kellerton.

After finishing school, she spent several years working in department stores as a clerk until 1948 when she started her own store. In 1954 she and her brother started farming near the PECK family, where she met Harold. They were married Feb. 10, 1956. The first five years of their marriage they worked in the store. In 1962 they started farming and raising cattle. Also, in 1962 they started going to Bethel Sunday School, where Alice taught Sunday School for many years. She also taught at Freedom Bible Camp. She dearly loved her Lord and enjoyed serving him.

Harold and Alice started going to Arizona in 1970. Alice helped take care of her invalid brother and helped with his six children while her sister-in-law went to nursing school. Harold and Alice continued traveling to Arizona until 2000. At that time her brother went to be with the Lord.

In 2002 Harold and Alice sold out and moved to Corydon where Alice continued teaching Sunday School until 2003. Due to poor health she had to retire to part-time.

Alice was gentle, honest, patient and hard working as long as health permitted. She dearly loved her husband and is having a poem read especially for him.

Her mother and father, four sisters and two brothers preceded Alice in death.

She leaves to mourn her husband Harold; her sister Charlotte COFFMAN and husband Roy, all of Pueblo West, Colo.; and sister-in-law Martha DAVIS of Gilbert, Ariz.; and a host of nieces and nephews.

Alice will be greatly missed by all her many friends and the Church. Alice was always there when anyone needed anything as long as her health permitted.

Funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m. on Wednesday, Sept.15, from the Randolph Funeral Home in Corydon. Officiating are Pastor Gary DAVIS and Pastor David NEESE. Bearers are Mark PPECK, Chad PECK, David HELLYER, Torry PECK, Tim HELLYER and Tyler WYATT. Honor bearers are Wade PECK, Scott BUNNELL, John BROWN, Bill DARRAH, Matthew PECK and Chuck OVERTON.

Interment will be in the Corydon Cemetery. Randolph Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
