She furthered her education at a business college in Minneapolis, Minnesota before working for Quality Foods, which was a division of the Piggly Wiggly chain in Minneapolis. There she met Edward MAXINE and after he served three years during World War II, they were married on September 10, 1945. Norma and Ed moved to Shenandoah in 1950, and was employed by Doctors L. C. Sports were an important part of Norma’s life as she enjoyed golf, fishing and bowling. Ed encouraged her to learn to fly so she earned her flying license. They flew all over the United States and into Canada, where they liked to fish.
Later, Norma and Ed built a lake home at Sun Valley in Ringgold County, where they enjoyed spending time with their family and friends. Norma enjoyed being with people and made many friends both in Shenandoah and Sun Valley at Ellston, Iowa.
