OBITUARY - PATTY POLLOCK

Patty POLLOCK, 74, of Mount Ayr, died March 31, 2009, at her home.

Services will be held 10:30 a.m. Friday, April 3, at Watson-Armstrong Funeral Home, 205 S. Monroe St., Mount Ayr. The Rev. Dan FERNANDEZ will officiate. Burial will be in Rose Hill Cemetery in Mount Ayr. Open visitation will be 4 to 9 p.m. Thursday, with the family present 6 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home. Memorials are to Wishard Chapel United Methodist Church.

OBITUARY - PATTY POLLOCK

Patty June TIDRICK POLLOCK was born May 31, 1934 in Ringgold County at home to Elmer and Cecil (GRAHAM, JACKSON) TIDRICK. She departed this life on March 31, 2009 at home at the age of 74. Patty graduated from Mount Ayr High School in 1953. She was united in marriage at Wishard Chapel with James Lynn POLLOCK on June 7, 1953.

Patty and James spent their entire married life on the TIDRICK/POLLOCK Century farm. Activities Patty engaged in throughout her life were Bible School teacher, Sunday school teacher, UMW member, Lay Mission team, MYF volunteer, Church camp counselor, and girls 4-H leader.

Patty was a REC meter reader for 30 years. She became well known baking pies, bread, egg noodles, and cinnamon rolls, later becoming employed at the Mount Ayr Sale Barn Café. Later she moved to the Wagon Wheel Café in Tingley.

Hobbies Patty enjoyed were sewing, knitting, crocheting, and reading. Her favorite hobby was hand quilting. She enjoyed repairing or finishing old quilts and making new quilts for others.

One of the biggest enjoyments was receiving a plaque from members of the Wishard Chapel Church for 61 years of service as a pianist/organist.

Surviving are her husband James, her children India Leigh KELLEY and her husband Steve KELLEY of Front Royal, Virginia, Misty LaDawn HORSTMEYER of Bismarck, North Dakota, and Scott Marc POLLOCK and his wife Lydia of Mount Ayr. Four Grandsons; Anthony KELLEY and his wife Mikhala, Chase HORSTMEYER and Marcella Diane, Ethan and Tyrell POLLOCK. Two great-grandsons; Ryan and Damon HORSTMEYER, Sister-in-law Margaret JACKSON, 2 nieces and a nephew. Brother-in-laws; John and wife Cathy, Frank and wife Judy, Tom and wife Helen, Sister-in-law Erma and husband Charles SCEARCY, nieces and nephews. Patty was preceded in death by her Parents, brother Drexel JACKSON, sister Nadine GROVO and son-in-law Mike HORSTMEYER.
