OBITUARY - ALICE BENNETT SIVERLY

Funeral services for Alice SIVERLY, age 81, of Lenox, who died Monday, February 6, 2006 at Greater Community Hospital in Creston were held Thursday, February 9, 2006 at 10:30 a.m. at the Clearfield United Methodist Church. Interment was held at North Fairview Cemetery in Lenox. Memorials can be given in her name. Arrangements were entrusted to the Ritchie Funeral Home of Lenox.

Alice (BENNETT) SIVERLY was welcomed into the arms of her Savior on February 6, 2006. Daughter of David and Bessie BENNETT, Alice was born on February 20, 1924, on the BENNETT Family farm near Lenox, Iowa. She attended country school and graduated from Clearfield High School in 1941. After high school, she taught country school near Lenox.

She married her lifelong love, Lawrence Lewellyn (L. L.) SIVERLY on November 25, 1943. During 62 years together, they enjoyed life on the farm and raised five children. Alice enjoyed sewing for her family, cooking, gardening, flowers and just being outdoors on the farm. She shared her many talents and gifts with her family and friends. Alice's greatest joys were her husband and her family. She enjoyed being involved in the lives of her children and grandchildren. She was a loving, positive wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother.

Alice was a woman of great faith and was very active in the Clearfield United Methodist Church, United Methodist Women and her Bible Study. She was a generous spirit who gave to many Methodist charities, always thinking of others.

Celebrating her love and life are her husband, L. L. SIVERLY; her daughter Sharon McCLINTOCK (husband Robert) of Carlisle, Iowa; son Lawrence SIVERLY (wife Norma) of Bedford, Iowa; daughter Sheryl O'RILEY (husband Steve) of Minonk, Illinois; daughter Laura BENTLEY (husband Jim) of Diagonal, Iowa, and a niece Bonnie HALLIGAN (husband Mike) of Lenox, Iowa. She was adored and loved by her twelve grandchildren, four great-grandchildren and a wealth of friends.

Preceding Alice in death were her parents David and Bessie BENNETT, her brothers Roy and Arthur, and her beloved grandson Mitchell SIVERLY.

She will be a light forever in the hearts of her family and friends. May God grant comfort and strength to those who mourn her passing.
