NOTICE of DEATH.

KELLERTON--Died, last Thursday, of consumption, Miss Mary SIRELS (sic), living three miles west of town. Her death was very sudden. She was up and around, talking and chatting merrily, but a few hours before she died. The funeral services were conducted by Rev. WILKERSON [with interment at Maple Row Cemetery, Kellerton]. The deceased has a number of friends in Mt. Ayr as here, who will mourn her death.

OBITUARY.
Mary SIRLES, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. I. M. SIRLES, died at her home near Kellerton, Iowa, of consumption, October 6th, 1887, aged 32 years, 4 months and 6 days. The deceased was born in Wapello county, Iowa, July 26, 1855, and remained at that place until February, 1882, when she came with parents to Ringgold county, Iowa, where she has since resided.

She united with the M. E. church at Ashland, Iowa, in May 1873, since which time she has ever been a faithful and willing worker in the Master's vineyard. She knew her end was near, and requested her aged parents not to mourn for her. To the mourning ones we would say, that while your sorrow is of the deepest, and your grief seeming unassuaged, there is this to console you: Mary died a faithful, devoted christian; died in the hope of a better life and a blessed immortality. She left us an example worthy of imitation, for her will was to do Jesus' will. Although home was doubly dear because of her kindness, sympathy and love, we will bow to thy command, Oh, Father.

The funeral service was conducted by Rev. B. A. WILKINSON, from Job 19, 26, in which he spoke of the promises that are given in God's word to cheer us in the hour of our affliction. All extend to the family their tenderest sympathy, praying that God's grace may be sufficient for them in this, the saddest hour of life.

NOTE: Mary's father Isaac SIRLES was born September 6, 1828, and died July 20, 1914. Her mother Sarah E. (?) SIRLES was born November 27, 1837, and died December 16, 1912. They were interred at Maple Row Cemetery, Kellerton, Ringgold County, Iowa. Also interred at Maple Row Cemetery is William N. SIRLES, born December 15, 1862, and died September 24, 1917.
