OBITUARY - WM. H. SIPLE.

Wm. H. SIPLE, a resident of Ringgold county for 45 years, passed away October 11 at his home in Mount Ayr. He had been in ill health for a year and an early diagnosis of his case revealed the fact that nothing could be done to help him. In his last illness, he was only confined to his bed six days.

Mr. SIPLE was born near Hopeville, Iowa, October 31, 1871. He died at the age of 61 years, 11 months and four days.

He lived in Kellerton, Iowa, 25 years, moving to Mount Ayr in 1922, where he has since resided.

He was married to Amy WILSON April 22, 1896, in Kellerton. To them were born two children, Lois Lavon, who died in 1917 at the age of 17 years, and Avery L., who died in 1919 at 20 years of age. He is survived by his wife.

He was a member of the Methodist church, a man of sterling qualities.

He was attended in his last illness by kindly neighbors and friends who tried so much to relieve his suffering, but God took a hand and called him home.

Members of the family from Omaha, Des Moines and other points attended the funeral, which was held Friday at 11 o'clock a.m. at the Methodist church in Kellerton. Burial was in the Kellerton [Maple Row] cemetery.

NOTE: William's brother Lewis Albert SIPLE was born in Clarke County, Iowa, on July 1, 1874, and died November 30, 1928, Mount Ayr, Iowa, with interment at Hopeville Cemetery, Clarke County, Iowa. They were two of five children born to Charles Albert and Ann Eliza SIPLE, the other siblings being L. W. SIPLE of Los Angeles, California; Mrs. B. W. WHITSON of Mount Ayr; and Emma Fay SIPLE.

William's wife Amy (WILSON) SIPLE was born in 1864 and died in 1953. Their son Avery L. SIPLE was born December 28, 1898, and died February 15, 1919. Their daughter Lois Lavon was born August 30, 1900, and died May 13, 1917. They were all interred at Maple Row Cemetery, Kellerton, Ringgold County, Iowa.
