OBITUARY - PAULINE (PHIPPS) BRAMMER
Pauline BRAMMER was born May 7, 1913 to Alice & Charles PHIPPS and was raised on a farm in Decatur County, Iowa. Pauline was raised in a religious family and she accepted Jesus Christ into her life at a very early age and continued her faithful service all of her life.
Pauline married Ralph BRAMMER on August 14, 1930 at the age of 17. They say opposites attract; Pauline was very shy and was happy just staying at home while Ralph was very outgoing and liked to attend many activities and belong to a lot of organizations. It must have worked as they were married for 77 years. As Pauline and Ralph were farmers they moved many times. Never questioning Ralph, Pauline would pack up their belongings and go to the next place. The house wasn’t always the best, only the lay of the land was important. Again, Pauline made the best of the conditions and never complained. After 17 years of marriage and a lot of prayer, her only daughter, Judy Ann, was born August 15, 1947. It took some adjustments but Pauline & Judy grew very close and was always there for her daughter. She also made sure Judy was raised in church, keeping the promise that Ralph made to God.
Pauline worked very hard along side of Ralph, opening gates, choring, working in the field and cooking for her family and all of the hired men Ralph had over the years. It also included anyone passing by that needed a meal and a place to stay even if it was in the barn. No one went hungry, not as long as Pauline was around.
Pauline was well known for her noodles and pumpkin pie which was half the fun of putting up silage for the ever so faithful neighbors. Her granddaughter, Tracy, was her faithful helper and it was Grandma that taught her how to cook many good dishes that had no recipe. Pauline enjoyed her grandchildren and was a very important part of their growing up.
Pauline went to be with her Lord & Savoir on January 18, 2009.
Left to cherish her memory is her daughter Judy STEWART; grandson Russell & wife Jackie; granddaughter Tracy; great-grandchildren Trent, Hallee, Megann, and Kyler; many nieces & nephews.
Preceding her in death were her parents; husband Ralph; sisters Madge (John) LEAR, Leona (Paul) BRUNER, Lucinda (Lemon) PATRICK, Pearl (Howard) JONES, and a brother Clair (Cecil) PHIPPS.
