Nodland, Darlene Bell - 1927-2011

Darlene Nodland, loving wife, mother and grandmother, 84, went home to be with the Lord, Saturday, November 26, 2011 at Mercy Medical Center in Des Moines. Visitation will be 6 to 8 p.m., Tuesday, November 29 at Ankeny Funeral Home, 1510 W. First St. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, November 30, 2011 at First Church of Christ, 310 NW Ash Dr., Ankeny, with interment at Oralabor Cemetery.
Darlene was born August 2, 1927 to Henry and Joyce Bell in Des Moines. She previously owned Silhouette Beauty Salon in Des Moines. She belonged to the American Legion Auxiliary, and was an active member in the First Church of Christ in Ankeny.
She is survived by her loving husband of 64 years, Burdette "Bud" Nodland of Ankeny; children, Beverly (Mike) Carr of Carson, IA, Michael (Marcia) Nodland of Lansing, KS, Anna Marie (Roger) Gloor of Kansas City, MO, Carol (Alan) Clason of Paris, France, and Richard (Tammy) Nodland of Lakeville, MN; 16 grandchildren; and 15 great-grandchildren.
She is preceded in death by her parents, and brother, Merrill Bell.
Memorial contributions may be directed to Darlene's family to be donated at a later date.
