Merle F. Simonton, 90, passed away Monday, October 29, 2012. He will be cremated and a memorial visitation will be held from 5 to 7 p.m. Thursday, November 1, 2012 at Ankeny Funeral Home. Merle was born on January 19, 1922 to Frank and Ada Simonton in Piatt County, IL. He was a farmer and had a true passion and love for farming.
Survivors include his wife of 65 years Eleanor Simonton of Ankeny, IA; daughter, Donna (Ron) Thomas of West Des Moines, IA; son, Michael (Susan) Simonton of Clinton, IL; three grandchildren, nine great grandchildren, and two great-great grandchildren.
Memorial contributions may be made to The American Diabetes Association.
