James R. Moon (Jim) a life long resident of Des Moines passed away on November 3. He was born December 22. 1928 to Russell and Georgina Moon and graduated from Staunton Military Academy in Virginia. He was a Freemasonry and an Army Veteran. After the war he took over his dad's printing business, Moon Litho and Engraving which was established in 1902 by his grandfather and became a respectable and successful specialized printing company for over 75 years.
He was preceded in death by his wife Sheryl and sons James JR. and Steven. He is survived by his son Eric (wife Diana) of Casey, Iowa and seven grandchildren; and his sister, Gloria of Prairie Village, KS. Jim was a good example of living life by the Ten Commandments and how working hard does pay off to enable you to enjoy the finer things in life. There will be a graveside service at 1:30 p.m. Saturday at Glendale Cemetery in the Masonic area.
