Mrs. Alfred Dirks
Funeral services were held Saturday, April 30, 1977, at St. Paul Lutheran Church, Manson, for Mrs. Alfred (Ole) Dirks, 76, a former resident. Burial was in the church cemetery. Rev. W.J. Wipperman officiated the services for which casket bearers were Robert Beekman, Gerald Beekman, Donald Flaherty, David Flaherty, Marlin Meppen and Bob Dirks. Mrs. Dirks died April 28 at the Humboldt Care Center after being a resident there for over six years.
Thresa Henrichs was born April 15, 1901 in Lincoln township, Pocahontas County, and attended the Lincoln township school. She was married at Pocahontas in November 1933 to Alfred Dirks and they lived first at Palmer where Mr. Dirks was a blacksmith. They later moved to Manson.
Survivors include the widower Alfred; daughter, Mrs. Jack Milefchik, Rock Island, Illinois ; sons, Alfred, Humboldt and Bernard of Harlan; ten grandchildren and four sisters,
Mrs. Mary Beekman and Mrs. Ted Flaherty of Pocahontas, Mrs. Lester Altman of Hemet, Calif., and Miss Hannah Henrichs of Fort Dodge.
