AN INFANT SON IS CALLED BY DEATH

Last Rites for Lauren Nilson, Union County, Held at Alcester, S. D.

Lauren Virgil Nilson was born October 14, 1936, in Union county, S. D., and although all that loving care and medical skill could do, was done, he passed away on Saturday, December 26, 1937, having lived one year, two months and eleven days.

He was a bright, happy boy, and will be sorely missed by his parents, Sigmund and Edna Nilson; three brothers, Quinton, Wendel and Eldon, and two sisters, Audrey and Geraldine. He also leaves to mourn his untimely taking away, his grandfather, Aug. W. Nilson, of Akron, Iowa; his grandmother, Mrs. Carrie Peck, of Akron and other relatives and friends.

The funeral was held at Alcester, S. D. with Rev. Robert F. Chapter, pastor of the Hawarden Methodist church, officiating. Interment was in Riverside cemetery, Akron.

“A year of sweets—a little year,
That vanished with our darling’s breath;
So strange; It does not yet appear
What is the blessing hid I death.

O shining brow and golden hair,
And eyes that looked beyond the blue;
Dear face, that grew from fair to fair,
The same, yet always something new!

A sweeter dream who ever dreamed
Thou came with his soft lips to ours?
Blest with his life, our being sensed
Drowned in the glowing soul of flowers.”
