Lynn ,
The last I found Carrie was in a Muscatine newspaper clipping saying that she was on her way home to Knoxville, (Ia) from Muscatine in 1909 . She had been living in Columbia, Ia with her son Frank Elwood up too around 1900 ( stated in different Knoxville paper clippings). I did find a marriage for her in 1905 to a "Chittenden" in Crawford Co. , Ia. It had her parents name listed , that is how I knew it was her. But must not of worked out , because I find him living in Illinois & remarried in 1910 , & I find her in 1909 clipping going by Clark and on her way back to Knoxville , Ia. ( which is abt 10 miles from Columbia , Ia ) . I would of thought there would of been obits for her in Knoxville & Muscatine posted. But I haven't any luck finding any.
A couple Ancestry Trees say she died in 1915 in Muscatine & is buried there. But I can't find any proof , She does have two sisters buried in Greenwood Cem. One died in 1912 the other in 1915 and neither one of their obits mention Carrie with the other two sibblings that was alive.
She was born 1844 in Canada. Maiden name was Beaty , with different spellings. Her first marriage was to Gordon Elwood , Then John T. Clark.
The clipping you found in 1912 saying Washington, I wonder If they meant township , because that is what Columbia's township is, or did they mean town or state of Washington. HUMM.
what a brick wall this has become. :{
Thank you so much for your help !!!!
Kris
