Hi Kris,

I see your problem. I find Carrie Clark, living with James and Mary Heatherston in Sweetland Twp., Muscatine Co., IA. She was born Feb 1844 in Canada, widowed, had one child who was still living. I can’t find her after that. She was not listed in the 1905 IA State Census. Niether were the Heatherstons.

Do you know her son’s name?

Checking Muscatine papers, using Newspapers Archive, I did find a mention of a Carrie Clark in the Muscatine Journal 23 Feb 1912 page 6. It said Mrs. Carrie Clark departed for her home in Washington after spending the day visiting with friends in the city.

You mentioned that you found traces of her up until 1909. Where was she and how was her name presented?

Perhaps she remarried?
