Hi Susan,
It helps to know where people were living during certain periods of time so I did some poking around.
According to the Federal Census of 1860 and 1870, Charles was listed as living with his family in Oakland, Louisa Co., IA.
Charles Stickney marries Mary Chown 3 Sep 1882 in Muscatine County.
He and Mary are found in the 1885 IA State Census as still living in Oakland, Louisa County.
The 1910 Federal Census has the William Daniels & wife, Mary, living in Conesville, Orono Twp, Muscatine County. This community is located near the border of Louisa County. Charles Stickney Jr is noted as 14 yrs old, born about 1896.
In Muscatine County, divorces were considered as civil suits and not indexed until 1907. Gladys Mittman spent a considerable amount of time reading microfilm and extracted information on divorce applications. This index is posted on the Muscatine Co IAGenWeb site at http://iagenweb.org/muscatine/divorce/divorceinfo.htm
There is no divorce noted for Charles & Mary Stickney. Maybe their divorce is filed in Louisa County. You can contact the Louisa Co. Recorders’ office to see what they have at https://louisacountyia.gov/
The marriage of Mary Stickney and William Daniels was 9 Dec 1897, and is recorded in Muscatine County. Please see http://iagenweb.org/muscatine/marriages/marr1876s.htm
With regret, I was not able to locate a picture of Charles Stickney. I checked the Louisa Co. Historical Society library catalog. They do not have a file on the Stickney family.
In Muscatine we have Musser Public Library’s photo collection. They did not have any mention of Stickney or William Daniels’ family.
Hope something here is of help to you.
