Hi Lorene,

Using the Free Find search feature, found on the home page of the Muscatine Co. IAGenWeb site, I could find nothing on this Dodd family.

The next question, I had, was were was Marcus and daughter listed in the Federal Census in 1850? I couldn't find them anywhere.

Using Ancestry, I did a search for Narcissa Dodd and saw a family tree that had her parents living in TN. Polly Wilson Dodd 1788-1830 and Marcus d. 8 Aug 1869.

Narcissa Wier is buried in Greenwood Cemetery in Muscatine, d. 5 Dec 1905, at 85 yrs. So she was born about 1820. Do you have a copy of her obituary?

It is harder finding families in earlier censuses because only the head of household is named and the rest are grouped by age categories of males and females.

My suggestion is that you look to TN for more information on her parents. Try going to the TNGenWeb Project at http://www.tngenweb.org/
