Looking for any info on the parents of George & Augustine S. RUTHERFORD on 1860 Muscatine County census as farm laborers. Born in Vermont? Father may have been dead by 1860 census. Both were in Iowa Volunteers during Civil War. Had sister Alice who became a Catholic nun. May have other siblings. Much research leads me to think father's name might be Martin RUTHERFORD but no proof. I am descendant of Augustine who married Hester Emaline EVELAND.
