Page 8Muscatine Journal: Miss Anne Frye one of the best know young women in the city, passed away this morning at the Mayo Brothers' hospital in Rochester, Minn., where she had been taken three weeks ago to undergo an operation for an inward growing goiter. The news of her death came as a sudden shock to her relatives and scores of friends. According to the message, she was too weak to undergo the operation, the physicians deeming it expedient to wait until she became stronger. The goitre, because of its locations, is believed to have affected her heart. She was accompanied to Rochester, by her sister, Miss Cora Frye, and Miss Myrtie Meredith and both were with her at the time of death.
Chas. Schoenig, her bother in law, left for Rochester this morning to make arrangements for bringing of the body to Muscatine for burial. The young woman was about 24 years of age and up to the time of her leaving for the north was employed by the Hawkeye Button company. Miss Frye is survived by her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Edward Frye, of Muscatine Island; two brothers, George and Everett Frye, of this city, and three sisters, Mrs. Charles Schoenig and Miss Cora Frye of this city and Mrs. Clarence Eis, of Shell City, Mo. The body will be brought to the Charles Schoenig home, 420 East Third Street, following which the funeral arrangements will be made.
