After a lingering illness of several months, Francis Swank, of Muscatine passed away at Hershey hospital in that city at 6 o'clock Monday morning, Death was caused by the ills of old age. Francis Swank was born December 11, 1841, in the state of Missouri and came to Iowa about twenty-five yeas ago. He came to Muscatine county and settled on a farm near Conesville, where he resided up to three years ago, when he removed to Muscatine. He had attained the age of 72 years. His wife preceded him in death some thirty years ago. He is survived by three children, Ellis Swank of Muscatine Island; George Swank, of Lone Tree, and Mrs. Ella Orr, of Conesville. Two brothers and two sisters also survive. They are Chas. Swank, of Muscatine; George Swank, of this city, Mrs Anna Van Horn and Miss Sarah Swank, residing in Le Grand, Iowa. The funeral services were held yesterday afternoon at 2:30 o'clock at Conesville. Rev. Ewing of Conesville, had charge of the services.
