Final rites for Mrs. Francis (Myrtle) Brennan, 70, were held at St. Joseph's Catholic church, West Liberty, April 4 with the Rev. John Morrissey officiating. Burial was in Mount Calvary cemetery. Pallbearers were Jeff and Jon Brennan, Ron Staff, Randy Weiss, Greg Guinn, Jerry Fuhrmeister and Jim Poock. Patricia Daufeldt was organist.

Mrs. Brennan died at Mercy hospital, Iowa City, April 2.

The daughter of George and Cora Young Swank, she was born at East Pleasant Plain Jan. 7, 1916. She was married to Francis Brennan in Cedar Rapids April 4, 1935. She was a member of St. John's Catholic church.

She is survived by a son, Jerry, West Liberty; 3 daughters, Mrs. Robert (Margaret) Breese, Solon; Mrs. Harley (Barbara) Staff, West Liberty and Mrs. Robert (Kathy) Wolters, Iowa City; 11 grandchildren, 9 great-grandchildren; a brother, James Swank, Muscatine and 3 sisters, Bertha Dean, West Liberty and Goldie Slack and Bea Stammer, both of Muscatine. She was preceded in death by her husband in 1985, 4 brothers and a sister.
