Last rites for Marian E. McFadden, former West Branch teacher, were held Feb. 13 at First Church United, West Liberty, with the Rev. Ralph Farmer officiating. Burial was in Oak Ridge cemetery. Pallbearers were Thomas Brooke, Neil Hildebrand, Joe Haessig, Rodney Smith Jr., Mike Kelly and Maurice Kaalberg. Honorary pallbearers were Walter Reier, Clarence Walter, Peter Pohl, Lawrence Roth, Adolph Range and Elmer Kline.

Miss McFadden died at Mercy hospital, Iowa City, Feb. 10.

The daughter of Samuel G. and Lilla Richards McFadden, she was born in West Liberty Jan. 5, 1908. She graduated from West Liberty high school and Drake University. She taught school at Greely, West Branch, Sac City and Iowa Falls before she retired in 1982.

She is survived by 3 sisters, Avis McFadden, West Liberty; Mildred Dryden, Iowa Falls and Margaret Endsley, Savanna, Ill. and nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by a brother.
