Funeral services for Roy Christison, 85, West Liberty, were held June 7 at the West Liberty United Methodist church, with the Rev. Donald Thompson officiating. Burial was in the Oak Ridge cemetery, with Masonic rites. Dorothy Carey was the organist and pallbearers were Dan Christison, Jim Christison, Paul Mays, Howard MacGowan, John Ekwall and Joe Sterner.
Mr. Christison died June 4 at the Simpson Memorial Home in West Liberty following an extended illness.
The son of John and Elizabeth Miller Christison, he was born Aug. 24, 1899 in Green River, Ill. He married Nellie M. Bridgford Aug. 26, 1921 in Durant.
He was a member of the United Methodist church, a 50 year member and past master of the West Liberty Masonic Lodge. He had been employed with the Rock Island railroad as a signal maintainer for 49 years.
Mr. Christison is survived by his wife; 2 sons, Keith, West Liberty and Dale, Port Charlotte, Fla.; one sister Margaret Kiser, Des Moines, 9 grandchildren and one great-grandchild. He was preceded in death by 2 brothers, 2 sisters and a son in infancy.
