Funeral services for Neta Miller, 87, Atalissa, were held June 10 at Zion Lutheran church, with the Rev. John Beck officiating. Pallbearers were Vern Allen Miller, Thomas Miller, John Liming, David Fesler, William McKillip and Richard Beinke. Burial was in Overman cemetery.

Mrs. Miller died June 6 at the Solon Care Center in Solon, following a short illness.

The daughter of Robert and Callie B. Shaughnessy Thomas, she was born Sept. 27, 1897 in Louisa county. She married Verl H. Miller June 26, 1919 in Davenport.

She graduated from Muscatine high school in 1915 and she taught in the Muscatine county schools. She was a 50-year member of the Eastern Star and attended Zion Lutheran church, Atalissa.

The Millers farmed in Muscatine county retiring to Atalissa in 1962, where they observed their 50th wedding anniversary.

Mrs. Miller is survived by 3 sons, Verl J. Miller, Long Beach, Calif.; Vern D. Miller and Richard C. Miller, both of Iowa City; a daughter, Shirley Liming, Springfield, Ohio; 7 grandchildren and 2 great-grandsons. She was preceded in death by her husband in December 1971.
