Arie J. Boot, 71, of Spring Creek Village Court in Oskaloosa died Tuesday, August 22, 2000 at the Mahaska County Hospital.

Arie Boot was born January 29, 1929 in Pella, Iowa to John H. and Hattie Lobbrecht Boot. He married Katherine J. Link on May 21, 1951 at Prospect Park, New Jersey. He lived in New Jersey from 1953 until 1971, when he moved to Oskaloosa. He owned Boot's Auto Repair in New Jersey and in Eddyville. He was a member of the Bethel Christian Reformed Church and served as elder. He was a veteran of the Korean War.

He is survived by his wife Kay of Oskaloosa. One daughter- Cheryl Roose of Pella, Iowa; Two sons and 2 daughters-in-law - Glenn & Laura Boot of Royal Palm Beach, Florida, Ronald & Linda Boot of Ocoee, Florida. Five Grandchildren - Craig Roose, Sarah Bruxvoort, Calvin Roose, Michelle Boot and Jason Boot. Three Step Grandchildren - Shawn Sapp, Chris Sapp and Greg McLean.
One Brother and his wife - Jim & Elaine Boot of Naples, Florida, One sister and her husband - Celia & Henry Rozema of Wyckoff, New Jersey.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Funeral services were held in Bethel Christian Reformed Church on August 25, 2000 at 10:00 o'clock with a Family Prayer Service at 9:45 O'clock. Pastor Alvern Boetsma, officiating. Burial: Forest Cemetery. This was Garland-Van Arkel-Langkamp Service.
