Martha Gerry Evans, 72, of 235 S.E. Haet Ave., died of pneumonia Tuesday at Iowa Methodist Medical Center.

Services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at Southtown Funeral Home. Burial will be at Earlham Cemetery.

Mrs. Evans had lived in Des Moines all her life and was a retired home typist with Meredith Corp. She was a member of Fort Des Moines Presbyterian Church, Southgate Order of the Eastern Star and the board of directors of Lincoln High School Alumni Association.

She is survived by a son, Stan, a daughter, Mary Ellen Willers, and a sister, Betty Jerome, all of Des Moines; and three grandchildren.

Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to her church or Lincoln High School Alumni Association.
