Anna Marie Bader was born in Keimling Bavaria, Germany, March 9, 1836 and died December 22, 1914, at Muscatine, Iowa, aged 78 years, 9 months and 13 days. Deceased came to this country in 1858, landing in the city of New Orleans. She was united in marriage to John Keck at St. Louis, Mo., on May 4, 1859. They immediately came to this city to make their home for about 39 years. Mr. Keck being very successful in the furniture business. Mr. Keck then retired from active business in 1891 and turned his business over to his sons, John and Fred. Mr. and Mrs. Keck lived happily and contented in their well earned prosperity until Mr. Keck was suddenly called to his eternal home on January 10, 1898, at the age of 71 years.

After her husband's death Mrs. Keck remained in this city until ten years ago, when she went to Muscatine to live with her only daughter, Mrs. Braunwarth. To Mr. and Mrs. Keck were born six children, of whom, Edward A., preceded his mother and father to the great beyond, dying October ? 1891, aged 26 years. Those who survive are John G. Keck, Henry A. Keck, Louis Keck and Fred Keck, all residing in Wapello and Mrs. C. C. Braunwarth of Muscatine. Mrs. Keck is also survived by seven grandchildren and one great grandchild.

She was a member of the German Methodist church of Wapello, for nearly fifty years and always took a devoted interest in the work of the church. She was indeed a good christian woman and her demise brings grief to a large circle of friends, as well as her relatives. The remains were brought to Wapello and the funeral services will be held this (Thursday) afternoon, Dec. 24, from the Grace M. E. church at 2 o'clock. Rev. L. E. Kettlekamp, her pastor, of Muscatine, will conduct the services, assisted by Rev. D. Froeschle. Interment will be made in the Wapello cemetery.
