Page 1Benjie, the ten months old daughter of Mr. and Mrs. M. M. Peters, residing west of Wapello, was taken suddenly ill with bowel trouble Tuesday morning and although Dr. E. C. Rogers was summoned efforts to relieve the cause of suffering were unavailing and it was decided to take her to the Burlington hospital for an operation. Late Tuesday night she was taken to the hospital accompanied by her father and mother and Dr. Rogers in Adolph Dalmases car. The operation was performed at an early hour yesterday morning, but was not successful and she died the same morning at 1:00 a. m. She was born Nov. 29, 1913 and was 10 months and 8 days old. She was a bright,healthy child and had seldom been ill. Her loss is keenly felt by her sorrowing parents to whom the sympathy of the entire community is extended. The funeral services were held this afternoon at 2 o'clock at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Thos. Gallagher in this city, conducted b Rev. C. W. Sydman. Interment was made in the Wapello cemetery.
