Page 3Monday night at 10:30 o'clock John Wesley Salladay died at the residence of his parents south of Oakville from inflammation of the bowls and appendix. He had been in poor health for a moth past, but was not taken seriously ill until Saturday evening. John Wesley Salladay, son of Mr. and Mrs. William Salladay, was born in Des Monies county, Iowa, Feb. 10, 1899, died Aug. 24, 1914, aged 15 years, 6 months and 14 days. Besides his parents he leaves several brothers sisters and other relatives and friends to mourn his untimely death. The sympathy of the neighborhood goes out to the family. John was a young man of quiet disposition. He was industrious and loved his home and his presence will be greatly missed by the family. The funeral services were held from the Hawkeye church yesterday morning at 10 o'clock, conducted by Rev. H. W. Cannon and the remains were laid to rest in the Kingston cemetery. -Sentinel.
