Mrs. Esther A. Axtell died at her home in Formosa, Kans., Saturday night, Dec. 9, at 9:30, after an illness of about a week with bronchitis. She was nearly 70 years of age and leaves her husband and seven children, two sons and five daughters, to mourn her demise. The husband and one daughter, Mrs. Shannon, arrived at Columbus Junction Monday with the remains. The funeral was held at the Reformed church of Wednesday afternoon at 1:30, conducted by Rev. Mr. Ballard, pastor of the U. B. church of Columbus City,. The two sons Perry and Philetus, are residents of Columbus Junction. Mrs. Peter Wilson, of this place, is a daughter of the deceased. The family were in attendance at the funeral yesterday.
