Lori Gertrude Newlon, 63, died Tuesday, July 4 at Jackson County Public Hospital, Maquoketa.

Services were held Saturday, July 8 at Basin Funeral Home, Farmington, New Mexico, with burial in Memory Gardens there.

She was born February 22, 1915 in Oklahoma, the daughter of Frank and Nora Courtney Phillips. She married William (Jack) Newlon in November 1962 in old Mexico. The couple came to this area eight years ago from New Mexico and operated Dutch's Tavern in Olin.

She is survived by her husband, Jack, and three sisters, Marjorie Taylor, Orangeale, Calif.; Mrs. Charles (Patricia) Hurst, Corpus Christi, Texas; and Mrs. Louis (Bessie) Riddens, Aztec, New Mexico. Her parents and two sisters preceded her in death.
