Funeral services for a former Olin man, Richard Postel, 49, of Marietta, Ga., were held Monday, July 10 in the Sims Funeral Home, Pearson, Ga.

He died suddenly Friday, July 7, of a heart attack. Burial was in the family cemetery at Pearson.

He was born April 4, 1929, at Monticello, the son of Evelyn Bixler Postel and the late James Postel. He graduated from Olin High school and spent four years in the U.S. Army.

He married Sarah Giddens September 29, 1956 at Pearson. The couple moved first to Atlanta then to Marietta where he was a long-time employee of the Atlanta branch of American Telephone and Telegraph.,

Survivors include his wife, Sarah; his mother, Everlyn Postel, Olin; five brothers, Dale, Nevada, Mo.; Kenneth, Virginia Beach, Va.; Lynn, Norfolk, Va.; Robert, Hiawatha and Keith, Cedar Rapids.

His father and a brother, Donald, preceded him in death.
